Ritter To Detail Proposal To Boost Economy
Friday, 19 December, 2008
Gov. Bill Ritter is preparing a package of legislation he says will shore up Colorado's economy.
The governor plans to detail his proposal today on job-creation bills he will send to state lawmakers next year. Ritter says his package includes small business loans and more training at community colleges.
The Democratic governor has said that government investment in construction improvements and energy production are among the best ways Colorado can weather a national recession.
Already Ritter has asked President-elect Barack Obama to steer more than $1 billion in federal road spending to Colorado.
